Climate Change launch website and digital campaign

The Committee on Climate Change is an independent body providing expert analysis and advice on how the UK can meet its climate change goals. It is responsible for advising on the UK’s carbon budgets for the period to 2050 and for reporting on progress in reducing emissions to meet these budgets. The CCC is the first body of its kind in the world and was set up under the Climate Change Bill.

They wanted a web site that functioned as a first point of information for academics, NGOs, climate change professionals around the world, media and the commercial sector, on the government’s progress on hitting climate change targets.

The look and feel of the site was developed with our sister design agency, hey moscow, using an existing logo which we enhanced, developing brand guidelines and launch materials as part of the process. Graphic devices were used selectively to aid navigation, whilst enabling a high degree of site accessibility.

Navigation and content was informed by stakeholder consultation, demographic profiling and online research to optimise use according to user profile.

Inbound link work, search engine optimisation, email marketing and a pan-European Google ad campaign built traffic and ongoing research informed content development.

  • The site launched successfully, with traffic building to 45,000 visits in four months and over 10,000 reported downloads
  • Highly targeted GoogleAds generated quality traffic and a 26% download rate
  • e-news bulletins generated a 13% response
  • The site attracted over 184,000 influential visitors on this important topic

“They are a dedicated and creative bunch who make a real effort to provide an efficient and cost-effective service. They have an excellent understanding of marketing and keep the focus on the consumer and audience to ensure that any campaigns that we work on with them are properly targeted.

They are also passionate about working on projects which will help the public and have shown a real interest and contributed some good creative ideas to develop our climate change website”.
